Arctic Snowstorm Speer-Update 1

January 31st, 2007

So most of us are waking up to Light snow. This isn’t looking to turn into anything very major but once again, it is snow for the 7th week in a row. A Low Pressure system which is rapidly deteriorating to the southwest of us will give us enough of a Kick, for 3-7 and maybe 8 inches of snow by tonight. Light to Moderate can be expected with a possible heavy event of snow around mid-afternoon. But it should be short. I’ll do my best to keep updating you throughout the day.

Snowstorm JC is On it’s Way.

January 26th, 2007

Say goodbye to the Warm Temperatures and welcome snow one again back in to your home. This isn’t looking to be a very big storm but 3-6 inches and maybe at most 8 to 9 inches in our Area of Conifer and Pine with lighter amounts towards Bailey. It will be somewhat sunny in the morning then it will become very cloudy and light snow by early to late afternoon. Road conditions should be ok if you know how to drive in winter weather but 4WD is recommended.

You Voted, and the name of this Snowstorm is Snowstorm JC. Snowstorm JC is currently registered to begin at 12:00PM Jan 27, 2007. So now vote for our next storm name right below.

LOTS of New Stuff! New Webcam, New Poll Feature, NEW STORMS!!! & JC and Beachrobin, i have you guys a forecast

January 25th, 2007

GOOD Day Everyone,

Well, i’m homesick, got some throat thing going on. So what do while lying here coughing, why not mess with php code and a recently repaired computer. So to start off, There is some changes/new stuff on the Blog. First you might have already noticed a new Poll feature. Now the poll will be on the right side of the blog with a new poll every week to two weeks. I also will embed polls in the posts, so also look in posts to find a poll. The Latest poll is what should we name our next storm. Snowstorm JC/ Bob, are so far the top 2 with a total of 8 Votes. So keep voting, we need at least 20 votes. So thats Feature #1.

Next up is the New Webcam. Now the Webcam isn’t official yet but i plan to keep it up. The computer i’m running it on used to run my 1rst webcam. Well to put it simple, the computer blew up, 3 times and 3 times it’s been repaired and in the meantime i used another old laptop to run my original webcam. So now i got an extra computer. So instead of letting this extra computer go to waste, i found an old Laptop Webcam which surprisinglyhas really good quality. So i set the computer up and the webcam, and now have 2 webcams running.

So whats the 2nd Webcam Looking At?

Well, if you have seen the Pine Junction North Webcam, this is somewhat similar to what your looking at. The cam is looking out the back area of my house towards Conifer Mountain, and a Wide Angle Across (whats the name of that area) and across the east side area of the Mountain. Now the picture quality is 640X480 so it’s pretty good for quality of for a webcam.

You can find the Cam Here->>  http://coldcoloradan.com/webcam/index2.php

Next, the EMAIL NOTIFICATION SYTEM-IMPORTANT!

Well, i had to go to Sending emails in plain text instead of HTML. HTML would send a request to the blog for data and would i’m guessing go through emails servers and in return, i got spammed, BIG TIME  But everything is good now. So in order for you to read the latest blog, click on the link in the email or go to the weather blog.

Al-righty, BACK to the purpose of this Blog.

I’m watching two STRONG Storms Systems. The Strong Storm systems are after this Saturday.
Well mentioning Saturday, don’t worry about it. So far, the Low pressure sytem seems it will break up before it gets right into that southern corner. So in return, Light to Moderate snow and 3-6 inches and maybe only 1 inch. BUT if the Low stays together, 3-6 for sure and maybe more. Back to the Two Storm Systems. Now these Next Storm Systems are Arctic. One Surge, then the 2nd Surge. Light Snow i’m guessing but nothing significant at this point. After all, it is just a cold front and cold air. I’m just waiting to see if any Low for off the fronts. The first surge would drop our temps into the 20’s next weeks around Wednesday and then the Next i’m guessing arriving around Late Thursday into Friday with temps into 0-10 range. Snow is a most likely but nothing big at all, just light at this point. But it’s still pretty far out so things can change very quickly.

Beachrobin-> No significant weather, but i’m guess Light to Moderate Winds and Light to Moderate Rains for Late Wednesday and Thursday.
JC, no new stuff, but it’s GONNA get COLD up there. So Bundle up. You will more than likely get some snow, but one thing i can guarantee is the COLD. Expect that to arrive Late Monday and Tuesday with even some SNOw.

Well, That about sums it up

Cheers,
Ryfly

Sun? Whats the Sun Again? Sunny Ahead, but keep a Close Eye Out

January 22nd, 2007

Heya Everyone,

Well, the Sun is shining and is gonna shine for a GOOD Long time. A Big High Pressure zone is forming and gonna last. So warm, average temps are expected for this week and “maybe the weekend”. The Low that hit us Sunday has moved South into Mexico. The only think that worries me, is the Jet Stream is still below this powerful Low. So why should you worry? Well, if the Jet Stream wants to move back up North, which it is hinting of doing, it’s gonna bring the Low back up with it. If you have watched 7News, they have a “stay tuned” on Saturday and Sunday. Now looking at the Latest maps, This Low is refusing to break up and continues to keep going on the same stength. Now i also don’t want to go into the tendency of saying for every storm is gonna be a Blizzard since that kind of how i’ve been for the last few weeks. So i’m gonna do the Same thing and say, Stay Tuned for the Forecast for Friday and Saturday, and Sunday. If the Low stays South, are mild weather will continue. If the Jet want to go up North and recombine with it’s Northen flow, then…. “Stay Tuned”

What Should The Name Be For Our Next Storm?
